Well, Friends….. The World Race is coming to a close. I am currently in Jordan for my last country, and I head home in a week!
One question I have been asked multiple times is: How did the World Race change my life?
But first, I want to make one thing clear…. The World Race did not change my life…. God changed my life through the World Race.
How did He change my life? This year has been incredible! No amount of words can describe all I have done, all I have been through, or all the ways that I have grown.
But I can say that I never want to go back to the person I was before.
Here are some ways that I will be heading home different:
- While reading through the Bible in chronological order this year, I came upon Leviticus… Yes, the book of the Bible filled with law God gave to Moses. I began to read with the mindset of pushing through the book just to get to the next, but God revealed so much about His character through one repeated phrase. “I am the Lord your God.” God said this after almost every command He gave. He gave the law because without it, no one would ever be able step into His presence. Sin completely separates us from Him. This phrase declares His perfection and righteousness, but also His justice and mercy. Therefore, He is the one I want to obey. He is the one who deserves all devotion because He is the Lord my God.
- On the World Race, I have been traveling with 28 others. We have lived together, laughed together, cried together, served together, and worshiped together. After 11 months with these incredible men and women of God, I am heading home knowing what true community should look like. Community is a group of people longing to stand in the presence of God, desiring to be more like Him, and encouraging each other to do the same. Because of my awesome squad mates who have encouraged me and have spoken truth over my life, I am heading home more confident in who God created me to be and a stronger desire to live my life for Him.
These are only a few ways in which God has changed me. If you want to know more of my story on the World Race, check out my blogs about Walking Through the Desert.
